Asahina Mikuru Gothic Punk Ver 1/7 (Griffon) review

Here’s the best Mikuru figure available (at least until the Gekisou version) yet . Knowing Griffon problem with retail versions , i was scared to get a not so great figure this time … but people at Griffon did what is surely their best work , this Mikuru is a masterpiece . The only difference from the proto shots is the color of the hair , but really i can’t find this a real problem …
She stand at a good 24.5 cm at 1/7 scale and is perfectly painted everywhere , the details on the outfit and hair are absolutely gorgeous . The added chains (real ones) on her belt are a nice touch . Her pose is lovely and the way she stands make her very cute and even sexy , and this without having to use a sexy pose or a cast off feature . This Mikuru is the proof than they can do attractive figures without having to show them half nude …
Sadly she doesn’t look as good in pictures as she is in real , you really have to see her to understand . But i’m not scared to say that it’s surely one of the best figure this year and maybe one of the most underated … Haruhi Gothic from Griffon was nice but she was far from being as good as Mikuru . Now i can’t wait to see if Yuki is going to be as great as i hope she will .
The best figure available from Griffon and one of the best figure of the year (one of the best ever ?) . The gorgeous work on the clothes and perfect painting associated with a sweet and cute pose is making this Mikuru a total killer . Now if only all figures were that great …

No description to why we should get it or anything about the figure?
I reckon this is the best Griffon figure to date. It’s looks almost flawless and they perfected to it’s best. The level of quality and detail is just amazing.

@ Rin : i think i had all Mikuru figures in my hands at least once and i still say that she IS the best ^^ . But don’t forget that i consider the quality of the PVC , the quality of the painting , the complexity of the sculpt and finally the pose and cuteness . So there are better Mikuru in pose or cuteness but overall it’s this one the best . But it’s only MY opinion so i don’t ask anyone to think like me ^^

the base is a Griffon base , nothing out of the ordinary black base with a metal plate and the name on it ^^
I had a feeling I saw something I was not suppose to see. lol

yah this figurine is nice, i like her clothing
but I think the new mikuru by max fact will be better
and for the photo, i personally think you need to add more front side light
some close ups are fine tho

@ ron : i don’t use any front light in my shots , as i can’t put any because of the space i have … that’s why maybe it’s not good ^^
the new Mikuru from Max Factory is maybe going to be better but smaller
very beautiful figure, but I’m really iffy about it, I dont think I’ll be honestly ordering her anytime in the future, theres just something about it i dont like, which is really weird lol.

for boys it’s a hard pose to do but girls can move easily and that pose is easy to do
but i agree it can look strange and it’s a unexpected choice by Max Factory

The sculpt and outfit are fantastic though I still can’t come to grips with the face.
The one reason I don’t tend to buy Griffon figures is that the figures’ base are always broader than necessary … What’s your take on the base? I know I am very picky (^_^)

Why as many figures ?
That is a good looking figure. Whenever I see product shots of Griffon figures, they always look dumpy with bad paint, so I never get them. It looks like the finish on this figure is really nice.
La figurine est très jolie, j’aime particulièrement sa tenue et ses yeux.
Cependant, je préfère quand même la futur Yuki de Griffon.
Quand aux photos, elles sont, comme d’habitude, superbes.

Nice! This is probably the best Mikuru figure I’ve seen.
Su-bli-me! Le style de cette dénote avec ce qu’on nous sert habituellement (maid et swimsuit, mais je sais tu aimes :3). Une qualité qui a l’air particulièrement réussie. J’espère avoir l’occasion de voir le rendu en vrai, même si j’ai une net préférence pour la Yuki qui n’est pas encore sortie (plus loli, plus choute, bref, lolicon powa!)
She looks gorgeous, although I must say I’m leaning towards the Extravaganza figure if I were to get a Mikuru figure. If my wallet were alive it’d probably choke me in my sleep and then run away before bleeding to death >.>
Had already seen her at foobarbaz and I keep the opinion as before… the clothes are freackin amazing and the pose awesome but I still need to find one that has a nice face and this one fails me in that aspect. Currently the only one with a good face I find is the maid version by Alter
if i was more of a fan of the outfit she woulda been a sure buy, especially after reading that glowing description of yours ^_^; looks like they didn’t make an over-sized base either!

I love this figure. She’s look sad but gorgeous. Nice work. The only reproach that we can make is that the style of character does not match the character of the character. She is still beautiful.

Wow I can’t believe I’ve missed your review. Glad to see that the quality is still great for the retail version. Although I’m not a fan of Mikuru, this is definitely one of the best ones out of the 3 Haruhi Gothic girls.
